Otter Confusion

Artist Note: “Otter Confusion” attempts to capture the whorl of activity a group of otters can generate. The graceful movement of these animals sometimes gets shadowed by their more playful antics for which they are known. On several fortunate occasions I have witnessed otter groups. They have been on the Thunder Bay and the Au Sable, both rivers in Michigan. One encounter was at night when I could only make out ripples and silhouettes. The chatter and sounds were as fun as a visual sighting. I chose an above and below split of the water so the viewer could better appreciate both grace and spirit of this otter family.
