Anne Sonnenberg
Bead Embroidery, “Painting with Beads”

Anne Sonnenberg graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a Fine Arts degree and an elementary teaching degree. She taught for 29 years and retired in 2007. During that time art has always been a part of her life. She took classes in stained glass and designed panels and lampshades. She won 1st place in a local competition.

Then after several years she began taking beading classes, learning stringing and beadweaving techniques. From there she decided to try her hand at bead embroidery. To her, bead embroidery is like “painting with beads”. Anne likes to work with color texture and design. Most of her necklaces and bracelets have nature as an inspiration.
